Parents of Pre-teen Support Group

By: juliatate8

When you are parenting a pre-teen, coping with problematic or potentially problematic behavior it can be stressful. Sometimes when you’re in the thick of it with your pre-teen you can feel isolated, worried or frustrated. Ease your stress & get out of the “grip” of worries, disappointments & upsets. Discover together with other parents & Jill, how to teach your pre-teens to be resourceful and resilient in the face of life’s challenges and temptations. Come & vent your feelings in a constructive way, share some laughter & your stories, all while calming your anxieties about your pre-teens exposure to technology, drugs, alcohol, body image issues & dangerous friends.

Learn from one another & get help problem-solving so you can be a more informed, effective, and crucial resource for your teen. Being able to share with other parents about what has worked or not worked for you in a confidential and supportive group can leave you feeling more reassured & confident as a parent of a pre-teen.

“I already love this group! After one session I see that Jill is so knowledgeable and experienced. She comes from a place of compassion and a true desire to help parents and families. I felt very safe sharing personal info with the group and got a lot of really great advice and support. It’s sounds so cliche, but just hearing that others are having similar challenges with their preteens reminds me that I’m not alone. It makes me feel like with time I’ll figure it all out. I am really looking forward to next month’s meeting.”

Testimonials

I would without hesitation seek out Jill for counseling. She is smart, talented, perceptive, and compassionately rigorous in her counseling. She rocked my world -- in a good way. She asked me questions that challenged my fundamental perceptions of the world that keep me small, trapped, and limited, and invited me to consider what would be possible for myself without these limiting core concepts. As a result, I feel stronger, with much greater openness to what’s possible for me in my life.

Testimonials

"I was just telling my husband about Jill's river metaphor as well as the positive framework Jill set up for us at last month's parent support group - I love this idea that the energy and impulses of teen hood aren't just to be endured (by teen or family!) but to be appreciated and channeled in a healthy positive way... I'm looking forward to hearing about more concrete ways we can do that."

Mill Valley, Mother of 2
